Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. We do not store plain-text passwords.
Conversation data: To provide persistent memory across sessions, we store summaries and exchanges from your conversations with AI companions in our database. This is what allows your companion to remember you over time.
Usage data: We may collect basic analytics such as pages visited, features used, and session length. This helps us improve the platform.
Payment information: If you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details — Stripe handles all payment processing.
Voice preferences & settings: Your chosen voice, model preferences, and room settings are stored locally in your browser and optionally in your account.
API keys (BYOK): If you provide your own third-party API keys, they are stored locally in your browser only. They are transmitted to our server with each request and used immediately but are never stored in our database.

If you are concerned about privacy, you may use the platform without creating an account. Guest sessions do not persist conversation memory across browser sessions.
We retain your account data and conversation history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Browser-local data (voice preferences, settings, portrait assignment) can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.

Lucid Rooms is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has accessed our platform, please contact us immediately at Lucidrooms2026@yahoo.com and we will take immediate action.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
We use browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to save your preferences, session state, and settings. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.
Lucidrooms LLC (Lucid Rooms) sends text messages only to people who opt in on our text message sign-up page. When you opt in, we collect your mobile number, the time you consented, and the consent wording you agreed to, and we keep the messages sent to and from your number so they appear in your conversation.
We use this information only to send you the messages you signed up for: messages from your AI companion and account notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party except the text-message provider (Twilio) that delivers the messages.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
